We offer a stress-free Pediatric Advanced Life Support renewal class several times a month at our St. Louis AHA training site located at 63 National Way Shopping Center, St. Louis, MO 63011.

Our core philosophy with all of our American Heart Association classes is to provide a relaxed learning environment. It is our belief that this provides for the most optimal learning experience. The skills taught in PALS classes are essential and must be mastered by healthcare providers in order to insure the best possible care.to pediatric patients.

All of our instructors must first go through the rigorous training required to become certified by the AHA to teach life support courses. In addition, our instructors have real life experience in emergency situations that can be shared with students in order to further illustrate concepts. Before our instructors teach a class for us, they are further trained in our philosophy which includes the stress-free environment style of learning.

Our first time PALS class is taught in ONE DAY! Here is a general outline of the topics that are covered. We begin with an overview of AHA Science. Then BLS Testing for 1 and 2 rescuer Child and Infant CPR, respiratory emergencies techniques that include hands on time with intubation and airway equipment. We then cover vascular access which includes both intravenous (through a vein) and intraosseous (bone access).

The resuscitation team concept is stressed for the entire class, as it is an integral component of PALS. Much of the afternoon is also spent of Pediatric Assessment Approach which is Identify, and Evaluate. Finally 12 Core PALS Cases allow students to have hands on practice and application of skills in managing respiratory, cardiovascular, and different forms of shock emergencies in infants and children.
